J-FRESH – Pablo
Whether J-Fresh is DJing, producing or dropping a single, he remains one of the most consistent artists on the scene so it comes as no surprise that his new album ‘Juice’ (out April 20th) is being highly anticipated by the UK music scene. After his 2017 debut album ‘Fruit Salad’, expectant eyes and ears have been on the producer to see what he has up his sleeve and we are not about to be disappointed.
‘Juice’ not only pays homage to the classic J-Fresh sound by featuring the likes of UK legends Swiss and Monkstar, as well as new school artists Ayo Beatz and Predz UK, but also showcases his growth as a producer and his ability to take risks. Time and time again J-Fresh has been able to exhibit his capacity in his dynamic production capabilities and ‘Juice’ is another example of exactly that. With under tones of Trap and Caribbean notes flowing in to the mix, he keeps grime as the most prominent and important component in this fresh selection of beats. That in itself not only stands true to his sound that we have grown to know and love, but allows room for his growing, experimental side to breathe. His new (no doubt) hit single ‘Pablo’ premiered via DJ Target on 1Xtra and added straight on to the Spotify Grime Shutdown playlist, features Pay as You Go Originators/Grime Originals, Maxwell D & Plague and is energetic from start to finish with the verses flowing seamlessly in to one another over the slick, well produced, infectious beat, allowing the listener to resonate to the sound.
His relentless work ethic has awarded him with previous support from gatekeepers including Charlie Sloth, Rude Kid, Sian Anderson and Logan Sama as well as online support from the likes of Hype Magazine, Link Up, GRM Daily, RWD and Vents Magazine, whilst his extensive skill set has allowed him to push his music even further in to the speakers of the nation via a range of guest mixes at Kiss FM and an epic Back to Back against DJ Target at BBC Radio 1Xtra. J-Fresh also continues to host his own syndicated show on over 50 stations and his online interview series and in true J-Fresh fashion, he begins his ‘Juice’ tour shortly after the album release, so expect dates in late April through May, across the UK.
