JOSHUA KYEOT – STILL
RELEASE: OUT NOW
JOSHUA KYEOT – STILL
– Artist Biography
Leading the tenors in high school. Teaching his self to play instruments. Cutting vocals from his university halls. Whether you experience his music on record or at one of his live shows, the passion is palpable. Joshua KYEOT grew up in Accra, Ghana and in Croydon, UK.
Over the last years, he’s released his two-track project, “She Loves Me” and sold out is first headline show at the Servant Jazz Quarters and has been BBC Introducing featured Artist. And now he is gearing up to release the second EP “She Loves Me Not”. Something a concept EP, “she loves me, she loves me not” is inspired by a broken relationship, and lyrically speaks of the struggle in coming to terms with it. It is a sonic representation of the emotions experienced after the relationship; progressing from themes of anger and bitterness to feelings of heartbreak and regret.
The music defies easy classification, drawing liberally (often simultaneously) from an array of musical traditions. He’s equally at home on an alternative soul lineup or playlist next to Jacob Banks, John Legend and Samm Hennshaw while his rock-inspired songwriting calls to mind the intricate work of artists like Paramore.
Over a bed of warm, shifting instrumentation, KYEOT’s vocals take centre stage — all achingly soulful and despondent.
He will be performing at Sebright Arms in East London, UK on the 7th of February 2019 https://www.alttickets.com/joshua-kyeot-tickets

– Thoughtful artist quote about Still video
“Still” is about knowing that you deserve better for yourself and even though you may be pursuing better it can be damn near impossible to relish in your improved life. The person who hurt you is what you wanted and what you still want.
